Rosen: From penis envy to penisectomy

“Look at this chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist’s arrogated entitlement. All of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasp. Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes.”

That was a tweet on September 29 from Carol Christine Fair, venting her rage during Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Attached to her tweet was a link to a video of Sen. Lindsey Graham criticizing the sleazy tactics of committee Democrats and defending Kavanaugh from unfounded allegations of sexual assault.

Of course, Fair’s tirade was anything but “fair.” There was no credible evidence that Kavanaugh was a rapist, much less a serial rapist. The fact that Republicans on the committee are white is utterly immaterial. And her ravings about “entitlement” are senseless. In any event, Kavanaugh was ultimately confirmed. Justice and due process prevailed and he now sits on the Supreme Court much to the chagrin of progressives who regard the Constitution as an obstacle to the creation of their unbounded “social justice” paradise on Earth.

My point in calling attention to Fair’s Twitter tirade is more about her mindset and the double standard of accepted discourse in the politically correct, hypersensitive world of liberal academia today. You see, Carol Christine Fair isn’t just some profane, distraught, uneducated moron. She’s a 50-year-old associate professor in Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, with a Masters degree and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. After her tweet went viral, Georgetown’s president, John Degioia, was obliged to issue a statement about the University’s response to this kind of lowbrow, public rant by a faculty member.

While conceding that the University does not “endorse the content” of her tweet or approve of that kind of language, he defended her right to exercise her “freedom of expression.” His primary concern was that her “classroom and interaction with students be free of bias.” (What do you think the chances of that are?) There was no mention of any disciplinary action toward Fair.

And there was no apology from Fair, who remarked, “As far as I know, nothing has changed in my status.” Her justification for the tweet was that, having been sexually abused as a child, she was moved to come to the defense of millions of abused women, and that she crafted her tweet in the style of hateful messages that detractors have sent to her in the past. In other words, this was satirical payback and she didn’t really mean it; it was just kind of a macabre, tongue-in-cheek joke. Yeah, right.

Just imagine what Georgetown’s response would have been if a conservative, male faculty member (if there are any) had tweeted something like that about those female Senators that defamed Kavanaugh on the Judiciary Committee.

Casting doubt on Fair’s dubious, self-serving rationalization is her sordid history. Her other postings during the Kavanaugh hearings described the Republican party as a “f**king death cult” and “filthy swine.” In 2017, Asra Q. Nomani, a Muslim woman and former Georgetown professor and colleague, said Fair attacked her with “hateful, vulgar” tweets because she voted for Donald Trump. Such as, “I’ve written you off as a human being. Your vote helped normalize Nazis in D.C. What don’t you understand, you clueless dolt?” A Facebook post by Fair, targeting Nomani, said, “F**K YOU. GO TO HELL.” In January 2018, Fair was detained at an airport in Frankfurt for allegedly calling German federal security officers “Nazi police.”

If you’re skeptical that Fair was just joking, another possibility is that she’s an unbalanced, very angry woman. In addition to hating other women, like Nomani, who vote for the wrong people, she seems to be afflicted with a psychopathic hatred of men, especially Republican, white men. That she could even fantasize in her tweet about their torturous death followed by a bonus castration is, alone, cause for alarm. (I wonder if she hates Bill Clinton for his abuse of women ─ or is her venom reserved only for Republicans?)

Unfortunately, Fair isn’t alone. There seems to be an epidemic of misandry these days. That’s the psychiatric term for women who hate men. It’s not only tolerated in liberal circles; it’s downright fashionable and respectable. Speaking of psychiatry, Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, introduced his theory of “penis envy” over a hundred years ago. It held that females, in early childhood, feel deficient upon the discovery that they’ve been deprived of a penis of their own, and it goes on to explain their consequent psychology and behavior toward women and men. That theory is questioned today by most psychiatrists, especially feminists.

However, if we take Professor Fair’s man-hating tweet literally, she and her sisterhood of misandrists may yearn to replace penis envy with penisectomy.
