WHEAT RIDGE, COLO– According to Dr. Jeff Young, they are “down to only about 10-12 thousand surgeries a year” at his veterinarian clinic, Planned Pethood Plus, located in Wheat Ridge, just outside of Denver. Beyond the impressive volume of animal care, Planned Pethood boasts an animal rescue/adoption operation, and an international spay and neuter training program for veterinarians in countries with companion animal overpopulation. You may also know Young from his television show, “Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet,” now in its sixth season on Animal Planet.
Young recently sat down with Complete Colorado Editor-in-Chief Mike Krause on the public affairs tv show Devil’s Advocate (airs Friday nights at 8:30 on Colorado Public Television, Channel 12) to talk about his high-volume, low-cost clinic and its mission. That video is below and is well worth the time.
