(Editor’s note: All candidates for Colorado Republican Party State Chair have been invited to submit columns making their case for the position leading up to the March 27 election. Candidate Scott Gesslers is available here. Candidate Jonathan Lockwood’s is here.)
Colorado needs a strong Republican Party. The Democrat Party that is currently in charge here in Colorado threatens our state’s future, our children’s future, and the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of Coloradans.
Under Jared Polis and the current Democrat regime, Colorado’s economy has suffered. Our state has a ridiculously high unemployment rate, has seen the loss of more than 150,000 jobs over the past year, and is currently falling behind our neighbors when it comes to critical measures like personal income growth.
The way to fix this is to rebuild the Colorado GOP and offer Coloradans something else besides the current, failed Democrat leadership..
As Chair of the Colorado GOP, I promise to build an effective state-wide organization that prioritizes moving us forward, instead of dividing our Party. We need to provide a forward-facing, future-focused, positive vision for Colorado that broadens our Party’s reach.
As the first Millennial and the first woman chairman since the 1970’s, I believe that I have the tools to work with Coloradans across our state to continue rebuilding our Party. I am a bridge builder.
We talk about working to bring new generations and new leaders into our Party. This past year, Republican voters did just that: they elected Lauren Boebert, a young mom and business owner. And guess what, she won.
I was proud to stand with Lauren and work across the Western Slope to bring a new generation of leaders to our Party and to Washington D.C.
Congresswoman Boebert has endorsed my campaign to lead the Colorado GOP because she fully understands that we must expand and grow our Party here in Colorado.
Lauren is right when she says our Party is correct on policy. Our Party and candidates are focused on lowering taxes, rebuilding a strong economy, passing proposals that are fiscally sound, and letting Coloradans decide their own economic — and educational — futures.
We must continue stepping up and defending the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) and other mainstream policies that ensure Colorado’s government works for us, the people – not far-left special interests based in California and D.C.
The fact of the matter is that Jared Polis, Michael Bennet, and Colorado Democrats are doing serious damage to our state with their draconian lockdown rules, backwards economic and tax policies, and their efforts to destroy and demean both our agriculture and energy industries.
Most Coloradans do not agree with that extreme agenda. By building a strong forward-facing, future-focused Party that presents a positive vision for Colorado, we can take back voters who have strayed from us over the past 20 years.
Because Colorado Democrats have governed in an irresponsible and poor manner, this gives our Party the opportunity to go directly to voters and make the argument that one-party rule is not the way to move Colorado forward.
President Reagan during his 1984 campaign famously stated that it was “morning again in America.” I believe we can bring morning back to Colorado and to our country, but that starts with building a strong, effective, and unified Republican Party.
My plan is focused on working *with* our great grassroots leaders and groups, revitalizing our communications strategy, further building out our volunteers and candidate training infrastructure, and turning the state Party into a service-oriented organization that drives our candidates and leaders forward.
Colorado needs a strong Republican Party; that’s why I am stepping up to lead.
