June begathon update: Help keep the wheels greased

UPDATE: After week two, we are at $1505, so running a little behind, but still 30 percent of the way to our $5K goal.

UPDATE:  In week one, Complete Colorado readers gave a generous $955 towards our $5K June begathon goal, getting us 19 percent of the way there!

Complete Colorado’s reporters, columnists and staff selfishly insist on getting paid in cash money rather than pats on the back and the occasional kind word. It’s absurd, but true.  It’s also true that besides the good looks and keen intellect, Complete Colorado readers are a generous lot, so we’re begging asking for $5,000 in the month of June.

Please, sir, may we have $5000?

Fact is there’s a whole crew working every day to bring you the most timely and relevant political news (updated twice a day) from around the state on Complete’s main page aggregator, as well as top-tier commentary and original reporting on our Page Two.

Earlier this year, for example, we uncovered Jefferson County Commissioners rewarding the progressive activist husband of US Rep. Brittany Pettersen with a sweetheart consulting gig. Busting open stories like that takes time, effort, and money.

We also successfully sued a state agency over unlawfully withheld documents as part of an open records request, and our lawyers stubbornly insist their invoices be paid.

So please ladle some porridge on our plate by following this link.  You will be donating to the Independence Institute, publisher of Complete Colorado, which makes your donation tax deductible. But rest assured that your giving will go specifically to the Complete Colorado news operation.

And as always, thanks for being a Complete Colorado reader. Keep coming back and be sure to tell a friend or two about us.

SUPPORT COMPLETE

Our unofficial motto at Complete Colorado is “Always free, never fake, ” but annoyingly enough, our reporters, columnists and staff all want to be paid in actual US dollars rather than our preferred currency of pats on the back and a muttered kind word. Fact is that there’s an entire staff working every day to bring you the most timely and relevant political news (updated twice daily) from around the state on Complete’s main page aggregator, as well as top-notch original reporting and commentary on Page Two.
